Is it already December?

The last part of november has been such a blur of sickness and sleeplessness, but here is a recap anyway!

The weekend of the 20th, Benjamin came down with something, so I was up most of the night with benjamin while rob was being soaked at a boy scout camp out. Both rob and I were really exhausted from the weekend with benjamin being sick and all, so we decided to keep him home from church that sunday.

Apparently, Benjamin was really sick, and had a high fever that triggered a febrile seizure during his nap. We really didn't want to take him to the ER, because we have been through these seizures with him before, but the on call DR said we should take him to the ER to find out why he was having his fever. 6 hours later, while we were in with the ER DR. Benjamin had another seizure for 90 sec. Which, as sad as it is to see your kid have a seizure, it was good to have the DR. see it. So far, we think they are just febrile seizures-- seizures that he gets when he has a high temperature. However, since Benjamin has had 6 seizures in the past 10 months the DR wanted us to get a EEG scan to make sure its not something else.

Thanksgiving:

My parents drove down from wichita, KS, on Wednesday for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We were supposed to celebrate thanksgiving with rob's sister's families, but due to the amount of sickness that was going on in everyones homes, we opted to just have thanksgiving with my parents and robs parents at our place. Considering how tired we were, it was a really nice low key thanksgiving. It was fun to spend time with my parents, and Benjamin LOVED playing with his grandparents. Every morning when he would wake up and say "grandma? Grandpa?" After my parents left, Benjamin would always ask where they had gone. Rob eventually had to explain that Grandma Gail and Grandpa Dave wouldn't be coming back for a while.

That weekend, benjamin came down with the croup-- my least favorite sickness that Benjamin likes to get. Thankfully we were able to nip it in the bud with steriods and meds before it could get any worse. The past week and a half Benjamin and mommy, have been on the mend. Lets just say there was one day where I seriously slept all day because I was so tired from everything. Benjamin is an amazing kid! No matter how sick he is, he is always such a happy kid!
